Douglas E Farnsworth

OREGON - Douglas Earl Farnsworth, age 74, of Oregon, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at his residence. He was born on September 9, 1950, in Stoughton, Wis., the son of Earl and Jenevine (Luchsinger) Farnsworth.

Douglas attended Oregon High School. He married Liana (Ciciva) Farnsworth on April 28, 1973, in Madison, Wis. Prior to his retirement in October 2015, he enjoyed a career as a metal fabricator, working at Baker Manufacturing in Evansville for 45 years. Doug enjoyed staying busy in retirement and enjoyed creating Christmas wreaths for Hahn's Christmas Tree Farm, and he also worked events at the Alliant Energy Center.

Doug had a creative side and would do wood carvings of birds and animals.  He made some impressive carvings using driftwood. He enjoyed hunting and fishing his entire life and enjoyed sharing that love of fishing with his daughters. Doug adored his granddaughter, Emma, and was so proud of her!

Douglas is survived by his daughters, Leslie (Nathan) Borland and Sara Farnsworth; grandchild, Emma Borland; sisters, Debbie (Harlan) Heller, Peggy (Dan) Smith and Jill (Gene) MeDeiros; sister-in-law, Nancy Farnsworth; brother, Pete (Valerie) Farnsworth; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Liana Farnsworth; brother, Larry Farnsworth; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra (Philip) Mortensen; and canine companions, Bosco and Sooki.

A celebration of life will be held at the ANCHOR CLUB, 112 Hotel St., Brooklyn, at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
