Obituary
MADISON / SUN PRAIRIE - Joseph John Lapinski, age 70, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at New Perspective Senior Living. He was born on March 3, 1955, in Madison, Wis., the son of Benedict and Ruth (Lorbeck) Lapinski.
Joe graduated from Queen of Apostles High School in 1973. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era as a Helicopter Crew Chief. Prior to retirement, Joseph worked as a maintenance technician for Promega. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, creating his own fishing flies and the outdoors. He loved his family and always looked forward to spending time with them and his dogs at his cottage up North. He wasn’t truly happy unless he was fishing year around.
Joseph is survived by his sisters, Sharon (Pete) Peterson and Patricia (Ross) Pettey; brother-in-law, Larry Witt; special friend, Julie; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Cassandra (Paul) Becker and Teresa (Larry) Witt.
The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff of New Perspectives and Bristol Hospice for their loving care of Joe during his last months. He and we would not have been able to get through this without them.
