Obituary

VERONA - Arleen Elizabeth Jensen, age 94, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025. Arleen was born on April 18, 1931, in Flushing, Mich., to Floyd and Laura Partridge. She married Eric “Pete” Jensen of Flushing on April 22, 1950, and they were happily married for 63 years. Through a succession of homes in western Wisconsin, the family grew to include three children, Nancy, David and Lance. In 1966, Arleen and Pete founded Jensen Christmas Tree Farm, which they operated for almost 50 years before turning over the business to their son, Lance, and daughter-in-law, Gayla.

Arleen had an artist’s heart. For several years she practiced the traditional Norwegian arts of rosemaling and hardanger embroidery. In later years, she transitioned to watercolor painting, often of wildflowers, and then to creating whimsical, brightly colored bird prints, which she called her flights of imagination.

Arleen loved spending time with her family and many friends. She relished simple joys, particularly summer days on the porch with a cup of coffee. She was young at heart and the center of her family’s life.

Arleen is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Mark) Harris; son, Lance (Gayla) Jensen; grandchildren, Maren (Riley) Morrison, Katy Harris, Kyle (Christine) Nichols, Abbi (Jayson Young) Jensen and Jacob Jensen; and great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Lorelei and Ileya. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Virginia Jensen; cherished nieces, Arlayne and Gwen; longtime special friends, Jean and Ken, Betty, and Sally; and other nieces, nephews and friends. Arleen was pre-deceased by her husband, Pete; son, David; brother, Wayne; and sister, Kathleen.

The family thanks Arleen’s wonderful home health aides Kris and Maria for their support and loving care.

Grandma Arleen is what she has always been and what we have loved her as for over 30 years … She made coming to the farm special, loving and going “over the river. . . .and thru the woods , to Grandma’s house “. . .full of great memories a real thing for my three children and myself included . We could feel love and excitement in her smile along with her many hugs. . . . Come as you are, there was welcome in the air, crafts, her many projects, not to mention cookies and whatever she had on the stove was just for us. We hated to leave, coming back a sure thing. . . .The love does not end. . . The memories remain with anyone who walked into her world. These last few years , we took her presence in our lives for granted. . . .we will miss her and Grandpa Pete so very much .
