Craig G Brunsell

January 10, 1950 - May 23, 2025

Obituary

Lodi - Craig Glenn Brunsell, 75, of Lodi, Wis., peacefully passed away in his sleep at home on  May 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and his loyal dog, Gunner.

Craig was born on January 10, 1950, in Madison, Wis., to William R. Brunsell and Lola J. (Skuldt) Brunsell. He graduated from Central High School in Madison and went on to study engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.

Craig dedicated more than 57 years of his life to the family business, Brunsell Lumber & Millwork, a five-generation company that has proudly served the community for over 87 years. As President and CEO, Craig helped shape the company’s direction while continuing the legacy established by earlier generations. He was deeply proud to see his daughter, Andrea, carry on that tradition as the fourth generation, and his grandson, Carson, now representing the fifth.

A man of many talents and passions, Craig had a lifelong love for woodworking and spending time in the outdoors. He especially cherished the time spent with his son-in-law, Dave, and his grandson, Carson - whether it was deer hunting together in the fall or fishing with Dave, either on the Wisconsin River, in Boulder Junction for musky, or ocean fishing in Alaska.

Craig also had a strong passion for motorcycle riding. He founded the Custom Riders motorcycle club with friends and family, which ran for five unforgettable years. One of his greatest joys was the annual motorcycle trip to the Sturgis Rally, a tradition he shared with his wife, Jane, for many years. In the last three years, that tradition became even more meaningful as their grandson, Carson, joined them on the ride. Earlier in life, Craig was also a proud member of a Custom Van Club, where he first met Jane - beginning their love story and marrying on October 28, 1993.

Craig is survived by his loving wife, Jane E. (Marty) Brunsell; his daughter, Andrea Brunsell-Parks; his cherished grandson, Carson F. Parks; and his siblings, Debbie (Bob), Gail, and Marty. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Jake, Jordan, Brian, Sarah, Jennifer, and Christy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lola J. (Skudlt) and William R. Brunsell; and his son-in-law, David K. Parks.

Craig will be remembered for his steady presence, generous spirit, love for family, and his passion for a well-lived life.

A private memorial service was held this weekend. A celebration of Craig’s life for employees, customers, and friends will be held at later date. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
