Norma J Swenson

MADISON - Norma Jeanne Swenson, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Meriter Hospital. She was born on June 8, 1938, in Fort Collins, Colo., the daughter of Clarence and Naomi (Fischer) Yost.

Norma graduated from West High School in 1956 and went on to earn her associate’s degree from MATC. She worked as an accountant for the State Medical Society of Wisconsin for more than 20 years.

Norma was a member of the Lioness in Monona. She enjoyed reading and solving word search puzzles. She was also an avid dancer and playing bingo. She was always making food for events in her community. She loved spending time with her family, and her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Norma is survived by her sons, Scott (Devonna) Swenson, Craig Swenson and Steve (Nicole) Swenson; granddaughter, Charity (Dave) Bellin; grandsons, Chase Swenson and Tyler Swenson; great-grandchildren, Caden Bellin, Lexie Bellin, Levi Bellin and Leah Bellin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Naomi and Clarence; brothers, Duane Yost and Jerry Yost; and sisters, Darlene Kimple, Lois Steele and Donna Van Rensum.

A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, with Father Chad Droessler presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
