Obituary
BROOKLYN - Randall Jay Bowers, age 68, of Brooklyn, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. He was born on December 14, 1956, in Freeport, Ill., the son of John and Shirley (Crummer) Bowers.
Randy grew up on a farm outside of Orangeville and graduated from Orangeville High School, with the Class of 1975. He moved to Monroe at age 18 to start working for Oaktron Industries. Later, he was employed at Green Bay Packaging, and then for 20 years he worked as a forklift operator and warehouse worker for Stoughton Trailers. From there he went to work as a parts driver for Zimbrick European in Madison, and most recently in retirement he picked up a part-time job at The Legend of Bergamont golf course in Oregon. Randy wasn't one to sit around and enjoyed staying busy at home while not at work.
Randy was united in marriage to Kimberly Kerr on May 29, 1993, in a little church in Afolkey, Ill. Randy and Kim had a "mixed marriage," whereby he cheered for the Chicago Bears and she the Green Bay Packers. Where they found perfect harmony was on the golf course, and in their shared love for the Brewers and the Badgers. His dream “World Series" was a match between the Brewers - Cubs, but their change in league meant it wasn't meant to be. Randy was an avid golfer and a member of the Evansville Golf Club. He also enjoyed softball, bowling, volleyball, and really any sports were of interest to Randy. His first greatest joy was his daughter, Robyn. She will always be “Daddy’s little girl.” Even though you may be gone from our sight, you will never be gone from our hearts.
Randy is survived by his wife, Kimberly; sisters, Laurie (Randy) Widmer and Sherri (Brian) Daley; two nephews, Derek and Justin; step-father, Jack Homan; step-brother, Tim (Bonnie) Homan; and step-sister, Sally Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Robyn Bowers.
