Obituary

SUN PRAIRIE - Roxanne “Rox” Seeliger passed away on September 20, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Roxanne’s passion for life made this an exceptionally difficult diagnosis. Yet despite that, Rox lived a full, successful life surrounded by family and friends.

Rox was recognized by Madison Magazine in 1995 as one of the top entrepreneurs in the city for her work in the demolition industry. She was an innovative businesswoman, ahead of her time, passionate about recycling and the reuse of architectural salvage and building materials. She did this in the challenging environment of a male dominated business.

As in all things, Rox lived life to the fullest. She loved the outdoors and was always up to trying something new. Her family and friends could often be heard saying “that’s Rox” in the most loving way.

Roxanne is survived by her life-long partner, Michael Drilias; children, Lucas and Loren Schwersinske; and siblings, Thomas Seeliger, James (Kathy) Seeliger and Cindy (Peter) Diedrich. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ilse and Robert.

A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations to UW Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center toward fighting this horrific disease will be appreciated. The family expresses their sincerest gratitude to the staff at Catholic Charities Adult Day Center (Madison), Bristol Hospice and Talamore Senior Living Memory Care for providing Rox companionship, comfort and care.
