MADISON - Jerome Paul Buller, age 88, of Madison, died on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Oak Park Place. He was born on October 10, 1936, in Graceville, Minnesota, the son of Roman and Veronica (Nosbusch) Buller.
Jerry was united in marriage to Margaret Steinhagen on July 13, 1963, at St. Joseph Church in Waconia, Minnesota.
Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1957 and was thrilled to participate with his fellow veterans in the 2022 Badger Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. He was active with the Knights of Columbus in both Minnesota and Wisconsin, fundraising at numerous events. He was also active at St. Dennis, volunteering at many events including the festivals and pancake breakfasts, additionally serving many years as a Eucharistic minister and sacristan. He worked his entire career as an accountant, retiring in 2004 from Polk Diesel and Machine.
His favorite pastimes were doing jigsaw puzzles, solving Sudoku, and controlling the television channels with the remote.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Ann (Tom Schneeman) Buller; son, Steven (Valerie) Buller; and daughter, Lisa Buller; grandchildren, Grace and Paige Buller; brothers, Victor (Darlene) Buller and Vernon (Gail) Buller; and sisters, Lois (Jerry) Schlenk, Marlene (Jerry) Bohn and Susan (Jeffrey) Sieve. He was preceded in death by parents; and sister, Jeanette Ratzlaff.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at QUEEN OF APOSTLES PARISH, ST. DENNIS CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, with Father Gary Krahenbruhl presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Oak Park Skilled Nursing for their wonderful care given to Jerry. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be gifted to the Badger Honor Flight or to Queen of Apostles Parish, St. Dennis Church. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
