Obituary
MADISON - Kathryn Ann Verage, age 82, of Madison, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Four Winds Manor. She was born on May 10, 1942, in Rhinelander, Wis., the daughter of Burleigh and Thelma (Rodd) Verage.
Kathryn graduated from Rhinelander High School, where she was a member of the synchronized swimming team. She earned her Ph.D. in Education Administration from UW-Madison. Kathryn taught English in Ivory Coast as a member of the Peace Corps. She also taught English in Montreal, Quebec, at UW-OshKosh and MATC (now Madison College). Kathryn spent many years as a sacristan for two All Saints chapels.
Kathryn received such loving care at the end of her life from Cheryl and Kathleen.
Kathryn is survived by friends, Alice Breider and Barbara Fredrich. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Tom Verage.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison, at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025. A luncheon will follow at church. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday.
