Obituary
Barneveld - Patricia Ann Malcheski, age 83, of Barneveld, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Four Winds Lodge. She was born on September 1, 1942, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Matthew and Bernice (Novozinski) Radosevich.
Patricia graduated from Ondossagon High School and UW-Stout. She met her husband, Jim Malcheski, on a blind date at a dance and then married on December 28, 1963, at the St. Louis Church in Washburn.
Patricia was a home economics teacher, worked as a substitute teacher in Oshkosh, moved to Wausau and then made her way to Middleton. She worked at Lands’ End for over 20 years as a call center supervisor.
Patricia loved sewing and was an excellent seamstress, even making Jim his own suit as well as her own wedding dress. A spare thread did not stand a chance - she did not waste any thread. She was a partial owner of Bill's Sewing Center where she met her dear friend, Kris Berman. Patricia and Kris would get together every other Saturday and make quilts for Quilts for Africa, making over 500 between them.
Patricia was an avid gardener who canned the vegetables she grew. She canned so many beets that her fingers would be stained purple. She was an incredible cook. Her singing voice was beautiful and was enjoyed by those who listened to the choirs she participated in. She was a member of Wisconsin Region Model-A-Restorers Club Inc. of America. She volunteered at polls on election day and assisted with the census.
Patricia was a loving grandma and great-grandma. She was loved by everybody and loved everybody. She was a “spitfire."
Patricia is survived by her husband, Jim Malcheski; daughter, Krisann Hopwood; son, Kory Malcheski; three grandchildren, Bryce (Grace) Hopwood, Maddie Malcheski and Jaren Malcheski; great-grandchildren, Lyla and Luke Hopwood; and brother, Alan "Skip" (Pat) Radosevich. She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Bernice Radosevich.
