STOUGHTON - Loving husband, father, and grandfather, Ronald James Kittoe, 76, of Stoughton, Wis., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, April 28, 2025, following a long battle with cancer.

Ron was born on October 25, 1948, to Leonard and Adda (Lyne) Kittoe and grew up on a farm in Shullsburg, Wis. Upon graduation from Shullsburg High School in 1966, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country. After receiving deployment orders for duty in Vietnam, Ron was seriously injured in a car accident and an honorable discharge cut his military career short. He remained a proud veteran and true patriot his entire life.

Ron began his professional career with Thorp Finance and, during his time there, met the love of his life, Joani Bradley. Ron and Joani were married on September 11, 1971, in Belmont, Wis. They were blessed with three children, Michael, Michelle and Christopher, and raised their family in Clinton, Iowa, where Ron later retired from Mercy Hospital (Trinity Health) after serving 40 years as Director of Patient Accounts. At that point, Ron and Joani moved to Wisconsin to be closer to their family.

Ron dearly loved the grandchildren he was blessed with and spent much of his time in retirement supporting them in their activities and attending their events. He also enjoyed rides in the country, was an avid Packers and Badgers fan, and regularly connected with friends and fellow veterans at the VFW in Stoughton. Ron and Joani have been active members of every community they have called home, taking with them lasting friendships and memories made along the way.

Ron is survived by his wife, Joani; his children, Mike (Jan) Kittoe, Michelle (Mike) Matheny, Chris (Sarah) Kittoe and Christina (Mark) Fogarty; his grandchildren, John Kittoe, Dillon and Emily Matheny, Maggie Kittoe, and John, Emma, and Kaitlyn Fogarty; siblings, Larry (Kim) Kittoe, Janice Prechel and Patricia (Patrick) Teasdale and brother-in-law, Dick Roddick; Joani’s siblings, John (Jeanie) Bradley, Karen Roder, Jerry (Norita) Bradley and Donna Bradley; and many nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Adda, Dean Gehrt; sisters, Sheron Roddick and Helen Olmstead; brother-in-law, Harlan Prechel; godson, Jamie Lickes; great-niece, Anya Teasdale, and Lori Teasdale; and in the Bradley family, by his father and mother-in-law, John and Helen Bradley, Jean Ann Willborn, Larry Willborn, Reenie Bradley-Lucking, and Patrick Bradley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ANN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 323 N. Van Buren St., Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, followed by a graveside service with Military Honors at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery.
