Obituary

WAUNAKEE - Linda Ann Roe, age 80, of Waunakee, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on April 19, 1945, in Eau Claire, the daughter of Benjamin and Winnifred (Patitz) Domer.

Linda graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School and from UW-Eau Claire with a teaching degree in 1967. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Peter Roe, in Eau Claire on June 10, 1967. She taught in Eau Claire for three years and after moving to Madison, she became a beloved teacher at La Follette High School for several years before becoming a stay-at-home mother, helping Peter run several business endeavors and bookkeeping for her sons’ business.

She was a member of Lake Edge United Church of Christ for many years. Linda volunteered in her children’s classrooms, at school functions, at church, for Meals on Wheels and Second Harvest Food Bank. She was a strong woman who never complained, always had a smile on her face, and helped others any way she could. She also loved spending time with her many friends and easily connected with everyone she met.

Linda enjoyed baking, cooking, playing bridge, golfing, traveling with her family and later in life taking many trips with Peter. She was an avid reader, enjoyed going to movies with her husband, and loved watching sports, especially the Badgers. The greatest joy of her life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Linda rarely missed her grandchildren’s sports and activities.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Peter; sons, Grant Roe and Gregory (Lynsey) Roe; daughters, Kara (Ken) Seifert and Michelle (Jamie) Wersland; brother, Larry (Bonnie) Domer; grandchildren, Lilly, Will, Christian, Easton, Aspen, Hudson, Braden, Graham, Sophie, Benjamin, and Charlotte. She is further survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, close friends, and her beloved dog, Lucy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Winnifred and Benjamin; sister, Kari Domer; daughter-in-law, Sheri Roe and granddaughters, Hillary and Mia.

A funeral service will be held at MADISON CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY, 7118 Old Sauk Road, Madison, at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, with Jen Petricca Bloesch presiding. Visitation will be held at the Madison Christian Community from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Dane County Humane Society, and Waunakee Senior Center.

She will be dearly missed and always loved by her family.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23

Linda was one of my best friends since we were 5 years old. So many wonderful memories growing up and spending time at her home on the Creek, Bible Camp, ski trips and her families cottage. Then being in each others weddings and finally spending a few days each summer for the last 40 years with six of our best friends. Linda we will miss you terribly and will raise a glass to you as we meet again this summer. Love to Peter and the family and God’s speed my dear friend
