Obituary
MADISON - Louise Shirley Schwenk, age 84, of Sauk City, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Maplewood-Sauk Prairie. She was born on May 18, 1940, in Madison, the daughter of Leo and Lillian (Jothen) Hehn.
Louise graduated from Madison East High School in 1958. She married Charles Schwenk on June 27, 1959. She worked for American Family Insurance.
Louise was a member of the Packer Backers and the Moose Lodge.
Louise enjoyed spending time with her family, most notably her annual “Weezy’s weekend away” with her daughters and granddaughters. Louise loved to laugh, shop and have a good time which sometimes involved a good Bloody Mary.
Louise was fondly known as “Lil Nug,” a name given to her by Brianna and Bethany.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Renee (Lloyd) Grimesey and Pam (Tom) Wipperfurth; granddaughters, Brianna (Dan Schwartz) Wipperfurth and Bethany Wipperfurth; brother-in-law, Richard (Marcia) Schwenk; nieces and nephews; and granddog, Freddie. She was preceded in death her parents, Lillian and Leo; her husband, Charles; and sister, Lucille (Arlo) Christianson.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
