Obituary
MADISON - Carolyn Ann Winters, age 84, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Four Winds Manor. She was born on November 26, 1940, in Highland, the daughter of Bernard and Minnie (Tomas) Wienkes.
Carolyn graduated from Fennimore High School in 1958. She was united in marriage to Jerome Winters on May 30, 1962, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montfort. She worked for American Family Insurance for many years, retiring in 2002.
Carolyn loved caring for her family and living a simple life. She loved being a grandma and was adored by her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time fishing with Jerome, gardening, baking and volunteering at her church.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Jerome; daughters, Sandra "Sandy" (Dan) Stanford and Laura “Laurie” (John) Dart; six grandchildren, Brittney (Eric) Wallat, Nicole (Connor) Davidson, Garrett Piernot, Gannon Piernot, Anthony (Erika) Stanford and Alex (Tara) Stanford; two great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Stanford and Jace Stanford; and brothers, Ralph Wienkes and Richard (Nancy) Wienkes; brother-in-law, Andrew Prem. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Minne; sister, Rosemary Prem; sister-in-law, Shirley Wienkes; and nephews, Chad Wienkes and Robert Prem.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, with Father Brian Wilk presiding. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday.
