Obituary
POYNETTE - Darrell W. Millard, age 91, peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Dove Healthcare - Lodi. He was born on February 26, 1934, in Whitewater, WI, the son of Ray and Dorothy (Maly) Millard.
Darrell was a 1952 graduate of Burlington High School before attending Ripon College. He enlisted and proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1954 through 1958.
On Sept. 7, 1968, Darrell married Karen Netland in Tofte, MN. Darrell was a traveling salesman for Big Smith and Danbury. Later, he worked for JCPenney and drove parts for Graham’s Auto.
He was a member of Dekorra Lutheran Church where he enjoyed telling Ole and Lena jokes during talent shows. Spending time with his family was precious to him, going to area car shows or just watching sports on TV. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan enjoying the Badgers, Brewers and was a proud season ticket holder of the Green Bay Packers and attended the WIAA boys state basketball tournament for more than 60 years.
In addition to Karen, his wife of 56 years, he is survived by his children, Randy and Kristine; his sister-in-law, Mary Millard; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger.
Funeral Services will be held at DEKORRA LUTHERAN CHURCH, N3099 Smith Rd, Poynette, at 11:00 am on Friday, April 11, 2025, with Pastor Sterling Lynk presiding. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery (Poynette). Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 am until 11:00 am on Friday, April 11, 2025.
