Obituary

MADISON - Dean A. "Dean the Dream" Cain, age 70, of Madison, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Badger Prairie Health Center. He was born on February 10, 1955, in Madison, Wis., the son of Ann "Puddin" Harden.


Dean attended East High School. He married Mary (Stormer) Cain. Dean worked as a truck driver for several trucking companies prior to leaving the profession. He aways said “he had diesel in his blood.”


Dean was fun to be around, always in a good mood and very generous. He enjoyed watching westerns and from a young age wanted to be a cowboy. Dean especially loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed an extremely close bond with his cousins, Ann and Latricia Looper and their kids. He enjoyed time spent talking and trucking with his close friend, Flash.


Dean is survived by his brothers, Jeffery (Cindy Olson) Cain and Gregory "Boo Boo" Cain; sister, Dawn "Cookie" R. Cain; and sister-in-law, Carol Benson; nieces, Jahari, Melissa, Sherry and Katelyn; nephews, Tyrone, Jason, Jaquan, and Ronald Jr.; great-nieces, Janai and Ava; great-nephews, Jaron and Jayln; great great-niece, Jerzi Great; great-nephew; Kyrie; aunts and uncles, Johnny (Bonnie) Harden, Willie (Army) Harden, Levi (Monica) Harden and Corene Moody; and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann "Puddin" Harden; wife, Mary E. (Stormer) Cain; daughter, Antoinette Marie Stormer-Cain; sister, Jean Cain-Fleming; brothers, Ronald “Chubby” Cain and Donald Cain; nephew, David Hanaway; uncle, Roosevelt Harden; and his grandmother, Jewel Harden- Freeman.


Per Dean's wishes, no services will be held. The family would like to express their appreciation for the compassion and care Dean received from the UW Carbone Cancer Center, all the nurses and doctors, Agrace HospiceCare, and Badger Prairie Health Care Center.
