Obituary

MADISON - Janis L. Bergman, age 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025. She was born on January 9, 1952, in Madison, the daughter of Robert L. and Ardys (Hagen) Bergman. Janis graduated from East High school in 1970 and worked at Methodist Hospital for several years.


Janis cherished her family as she kept them close and always in her heart. Her pet companions, Snooky and Cali, gave her such joy as did crocheting and her collectibles. Janis loved photography and always had a camera in her hands at family events. She loved planning family reunions and connecting with cousins on both the Bergman and Hagen sides.


Janis was preceded in death by her father, Robert L. Bergman, and mother, Ardys (Hagen) Bergman. She is survived by her many cousins and a few aunts and uncles.

      

A memorial service will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, with pastor Michael Erdman presiding.

Janis will be missed! She was a caring, loving, human! I remember her taking a bunch of cousins in her minivan/cargo van to e.t back in the day! The first movie Ina theater I remember! She loved all her family! She will be missed!

I worked with Janis years ago during our high school years at Madison General Hospital in the dietary dept. delivering food to patients. I remember her as the sweetest and most friendly girl. My condolences to her family. Deb Bailey

Jan and I met when we worked at Madison General Hospital in the dietary department, we stayed close ever since, if we didn't talk on the phone we texted each other almost weekly, I had not heard from her after march 10th, so I was very surprised to see she passed away.She was a wonderful friend. Rest in Peace my dear Friend, love you!

I met Jan through my neighbor. Jan was always crocheting an afghan for someone in the family or a friend. She would often ask about my family, thinking of others was her jam. I'll miss you friend 😘

Jan was part of our extended family. She helped raise my/our children for 15 years and we all kept in touch until her passing. She was a kind, generous, and patient soul. It was so hard watching her suffer the past few years. She is at peace now. Her memory will be a blessing. Our family sends condolences to Jan’s many cousins and their families.
