Obituary

STOUGHTON - Barbara Ann “Barb” Grenda, much loved sister and aunt, entered into eternal happiness on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, fulfilling her final two wishes to be at home and to pass in her sleep. She was born 87 years ago in Milwaukee, Wis., to Michael and Pelagia Grenda.

Barb attended St. Casimir Grade School and Messmer High School and immediately began work at the Milwaukee Journal. She took a couple of years to attend airline school and was a stewardess with North Central Airlines for a brief time before going back to the Journal where she retired after 47 years in the payroll department.

Though Barb was engaged three times, she never married, saying, “that’s too much work.”

Barbara is survived by her sister, Mare Powers; nieces, Donna, Kathryn, Susan, Sherry, Sandra, Debbie and Jeanne; nephews, Christopher, David (Maribel), Paul (Rachel), Daniel and Dale (Lisa) and Tony; many great-nieces and nephews; and beloved sister-in-law, Christa. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donald and Douglas; niece, Sheila; stepbrother, Ignatius; and stepsisters, Clara, Frances and Dorothy.

Barb was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Stoughton. Memorials may be made to St. Ann’s or Agrace HospiceCare. Special thanks to Crystal from Agrace, Father Randy, Monsignor Healy, Frank and Kathi Parkel and the many neighbors and friends who have and continue to support us.

Private family services will be held. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
