Obituary
OREGON - Barbara Ernita Miller McGinnis has completed her purpose. Born on September 19, 1948, the fourth child of Ernie and Bernita Miller, she joined her parents and younger brother on a rainy March 19, 2025, when her heart stopped for a second time at Stoughton Hospital.
Barb was truly one of a kind. Being a nonconformist was one of her most adored characteristics. To know Barb was to love her. She will never leave our hearts. She will remain in memories that never fade like dancing in a go-go cage that her siblings constructed in the parking lot at her favorite birthday celebration. She was interesting, refreshing and generous to the core.
Barb was fun loving, hardworking, can-do strong and straight shooting. Her family meant everything to her.
Barb is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Bob; sons, David (Dawn), Scott (Penney) and Jason; treasured grandchildren, Tyler, Madeline (Jacob), Ryan (Olivia), Ashley and Devon; step grandchildren, Chase (Morgan), Collin (Jenna), and Dillon (Hailey); her family of origins, five sisters and two brothers; her in-laws and their extended families.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Her friends shared a mutual admiration and genuine affection, and hold her dear. She is and always will be forever loved.
