Obituary

MOUNT HOREB - Donald Allen Kellesvig, age 76, of Mount Horeb, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 17, 2025, at home. He was born on October 8, 1948, in Madison, the son of Orville Kellesvig and Doris (Eicher) Kellesvig.

Donald graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1966. He was united in marriage to Linda Schroeder on January 26, 2018.

Don was a dedicated farmer that spent his life ensuring the health and well-being of his dairy cows. Sustainable and organic farming practices were important to him. You'd find him in a combine every harvest season. After retiring from farming, he continued to help others by working at Home Health United and UW Health.

Don will be fondly remembered as a very caring person, always thinking about others before himself. He loved spending time with his wife, going out to dinner and attending plays. He enjoyed taking bus trips and visiting various casinos, doing puzzles and watching Wisconsin sports.

Donald is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Daniel (Leah) Kellesvig, Julie Kellesvig and Katie Kellesvig; Linda’s children, Paul (Debra) Miller and David (Albina) Schroeder; grandchildren, Noah Jacobson, Alexandra Kellesvig, Landon Kellesvig, Gabrielle Miller, Lincoln Miller and Jameson Schroeder; sister, Marie (Paul) Peterson; and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Doris; son, Ryan; grandparents, Olaus and Julia Kellesvig and Carl and Rosa Eicher.

A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO MOUNT HOREB FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 500 N. Eighth St. Mount Horeb, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025.

Don was a friend of mine for over 50 years and he and I farmed at the same time. We did a lot together over the years and still remained friends. Time passes fast with another friend of Don and I which was Doug Huseth that passed away from Lake Mills. A Friend Duane Iverson

A sad goodbye to our first, longest and one of the friendliest neighbors, Don. What a sweet and funny man. When we first bought our home in Mount Horeb 20yrs ago Don came over immediately, introduced himself and said he was here to help if we needed anything. He would often stop by (across the driveway) to chat and tell funny stories or jokes while we were out with our dogs, grilling, gardening, etc.. He served for many years on our condo‘s board of directors with my husband, and I and he was always the first one to raise his hand and volunteer to help with just about anything in the neighborhood. He will be missed ❤️💐 Big hug to you, Linda and all Don‘s family from his neighbors Brian and Mel Dragan

When we moved to the farm as greenhorns to the country life, Don was always there to rescue us. He pulled our truck out of the mud (more than once), repaired our fuel tank, offered valuable advice, and farmed our land. He was the definition of neighborly. Thank you Don and RIP. Ann & David
