Robert "Robbie" Lander, a beloved soul known for his warmth, compassion, humor and being an amazing husband, step-father, son and uncle passed away on March 17, 2025. Born on February 24, 1969, Robbie's life was defined by his deep passion for Star Wars, music and his unwavering selflessness.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Eagles Club, 2109 Bartillon Drive, Madison, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Robbie is survived by his husband, Jim Schmid; his mother, Rita Lander; his father, Wayne Lander; his step-children, Kierstin and Chandler; and his sister, Michelle Lander, all of whom were blessed by his presence. He is also remembered by his niece, Janessa; nephew, Landon; four great-nephews and nieces; as well as numerous aunts and uncles. Though his absence creates an irreplaceable void, his family finds solace in the cherished memories and the boundless love they shared.
Robbie was a graduate of Madison East High School and earned his bachelor's degree from Upper Iowa University. His life was a shining example of selflessness and empathy, always putting others first. His school years were marked by his ability to bring joy to everyone around him, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
In addition to his close-knit family, Robbie had a deep love for his puppy, Tobie, and a few lifelong passions: Star Wars, music, and nature. His devotion to the original Star Wars trilogy and his extensive music LP collection spoke to his vibrant spirit and his way of connecting with the world. Through his music and love for Star Wars, Robbie created a legacy that will continue to resonate, filling the world with the soulful melodies and joy he shared with us all.
