Obituary

STOUGHTON - Charles E. “Chuck” Egner, age 70, of Stoughton, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Edgerton Care Center. He was born on November 19, 1954, in Stoughton, the son of Leslie and Lois (Westphal) Egner.


Chuck married Susan Buss in Madison and they were married for over 40 years. He worked as a truck driver for many years, retiring in 2019. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 534 in McFarland.


Chuck was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Brewers, Packers, Badgers and NASCAR racing. He also loved being outdoors, camping especially on the Mississippi river, fishing, boating and golfing.


Chuck is survived by his wife, Susan; son, Lance Egner; daughters, Michelle (Doug) Keene and Wendy (Adam) Griffin; grandchildren, Joshua, Makayla and Heather; brothers, Duane "Squeak" Egner and Donald "Hook" (Diane) Egner; sister-in-law, Sandy Egner; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Darrell "Gunner" Egner; and sister-in-law, Sheila Egner.


A celebration of life will be held at AMERICAN LEGION POST NO. 534, 4911 Burma Road, McFarland, from 12 noon until 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2025, with military rites being conducted at 12 noon.


The family wishes to thank the staff of Bristol Hospice and Edgerton Care Center for their care and support given to Chuck.
