Obituary
MADISON - Audrienne Turnquist passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Madison, Wis. Audrienne was born to the late Erling and Mardell Swiggum on December 7, 1940, in Dodgeville, Wis. She was the eldest of eight children. She graduated from Verona High School in 1959 and married Wesley Turnquist in 1960. They later divorced and she never remarried. She was employed by AAA and retired after nearly 35 years of service.
She will be remembered fondly for her free spirit, artistic ability, optimistic outlook, and deep love for her entire family. Audrienne loved to draw everything from naturescapes, wildlife, her grandchildren and Jesus. She enjoyed solving puzzles, playing cards, and listening to music (Black Sabbath and Willie Nelson). She was also a Green Bay Packers fan, and she enjoyed watching the TV show “Survivor.” Above all, she cherished any time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Audrienne is survived by her four children, David (Toni) Turnquist of Edgerton, Wis., Deborah (Michael) Severson of Dodgeville, Wis., Deeneen Motiff of Windsor, Wis., and Daniel (Ruth Turnquist of Beaver Dam, Wis.; six grandchildren, Aaron Becker of Dodgeville, Wis., Shawn (Crystal) Becker of Lancaster, Wis., Matthew (Amanda) Motiff of Georgetown, Texas, Danielle Motiff of Austin, Texas, Joshua Wolenec of Verona, Wis., and Benjamin (Taylor) Turnquist of Waupun, Wis;. and three great-grandchildren, Keegan Becker, son of Aaron Becker, Miles Motiff, son of Matthew and Amanda Motiff, and Owen Becker, son of Shawn and Crystal Becker.
She is also survived by her seven siblings, Elvin “Butch” Swiggum of Stoughton, Wis., and Brian Swiggum of Lecanto, Fla., half-sister, Kathleen Talamantes of Redondo Beach Calif., half-brothers, Kendall Nyhus Evansville, Wis., Kermit Nyhus of McFarland, Wis., Benjamin Swiggum of Dodgeville, Wis., and Roland Swiggum of Dodgeville, Wis. Audrienne was preceded in death by her parents, Erling and Mardell; and ex-husband, Wesley Turnquist.
As everybody knows, Audrienne’s favorite saying was, “Everything will always work out.”
