Obituary

MADISON - Mitchell Meiller, aged 78, passed away on February 27, 2025, with loving family members at his side. He was born January 3, 1946, in Stoughton, Wis.

Mitch led a wonderful life filled with family and friends. He was a member of the Hope Rod and Gun Club of McFarland and the Bucks Only Club of Wisconsin. Mitch had special memories of fishing with his brother, Dennis, and deer hunting in the Chequamegon National Forest with Bucks Only club members, including, among others, his brother, Larry, and his greatest friend, Jerry Rodefeld.

Mitch worked for 20 years at Royster’s fertilizer plant of Madison and was honored by the company for his work and never missing a day of work in 20 years. He loved his nieces, Carolee Meiller, Diann Meiller and Emily Meiller, and especially appreciated Diann’s extra love and attention during the last years of his life.

Mitch was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Reva; and his niece, Lauren Rachel Meiller. He is survived by his sister, Meredith Meiller; brothers, Dennis Meiller and Larry  Meiller; and nieces, Carolee Meiller, Diann Meiller and Emily Meiller.

Mitch was a good man. We live in Cottage Grove, and always enjoyed chatting with him. Gods speed Mitch. Lit a lantern to help him find his way.

I met Mitchell when I moved my mother in to Sienna Crest. He often opened the door for me and sat with us. Two of my favorite memories are playing blackjack with him and my kids and when he told me to give him my hand. When I gave it to him, he kissed it and it warmed my heart. I was saddened to learn about the family’s loss but happy to read his family was with him through his life and his later years. Mitchell brought many smiles to my family’s faces. Our condolences and prayers are with you.
