I will always think fondly of our adventures in Thailand. So many amazing memories. When you travel with someone, you can truly learn a lot about them. I learned that you have a heart of gold, and your word is your bond. Rest in paradise.

My last memory with Andy was at an open mic night in Seoul, where he came to watch me play. Running into someone I had known for so long, all the way across the world, felt surreal and special. Andy had a rare gift for making everyone feel seen, loved, and understood. His energy was the best, his spirit unforgettable. Thank you, Andy, for opening my eyes to the world and for convincing me to move to South Korea. I had no idea then how much that conversation would change the course of my life. I’m forever grateful for you. You are deeply loved and will be missed by so many.

This is so sad ;( Andy was so kind and friendly, starting when we met in college. He was a nice person who treated me with respect like the obit says. Loyal and loving. It’s hard losing people so young ;(

Dear Mrs. Kim, Cathy, and Joon, my heart has been breaking for all of you since I received the news about Andy. I have no words to express the sadness I feel. It was my honor and pleasure to have Andy as a student in my classroom at East. I will treasure the memories I have of him. Attached is a photo I found. He used this for his self-portrait which he painted on the wall in the art department. (I’m sorry to say I could not find a photo of that mural.) I hope his artwork remains so that his memory lives on in the halls of East High School. Not only was he an amazing artist and gifted student, Andy had a very kind soul and was loved by his peers. I am thinking of you all and wishing you comfort at this time. Warmest regards, Monica Urbanik
