I was saddened to hear of Lowell’s passing. After my husbands passing, (Lowell’s First Cousin, Dick Mays), Lowell would text me every Friday morning to see how I was doing. We chatted back and forth and I looked forward to our conversations. He was such a kind Soul and you knew he cared about you. I miss those text. My Condolences to Lowell’s family. He loved every one of you immensely. Glenda Mays

To the family of Bishop Lowell Mays, It was truly my honor and privilege to know Bishop Mays and develop a lasting friendship with an outstanding individual such as him. He was always very diplomatic and always reaching out to those in need. He truly was one of the most compassionate individuals that I know. His passing is a sad loss for the citizens of Wisconsin and the United States. My prayers are with each of you. Very truly yours, Tommy Thompson

I was friends with Steve in high school, particularly his senior, my junior year. It was an incredibly difficult year for me and without Dr. Mays' counseling, I don't know that I would have made it. We only met a couple of times, but he helped me get through the darkest time of my life. He was a very good man and while saddened for the family's loss, it seems he lived a long, happy, fulfilled life. He deserved no less. Peace to your family - Jenn (Jacobs) Baumgartner
