Obituary
DANE - Josephine Elsie “Josie” Lokken, age 94, of Dane, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on August 17, 1930, in Cornucopia, the daughter of Edward and Elsie (Charbonneau) Stelter.
Josie attended Madison East High School. She married Duane R. Lokken on November 25, 1994, in Dane. She worked for Utzig Mayflower Moving Company for many years.
Josie was a talented seamstress, embroider, baker of yummy Christmas cookies and creator of the beautiful Christmas box she would put them in for her kids. We are all worried about who will take this over…definitely not Lynda! She loved caring for her flower gardens, lawn and birds. Josie loved 19 Crimes wine and watching Ahman Green when he played for the Green Bay Packers. She really was a woman of a lot of hobbies and talents. She never sat still. Josie was most proud of her kids and grandkids and loved them very much.
Josephine is survived by her husband, Duane; children, Bob (Jodi) Odegaard, Lynda Schulz, Wes (Pam) Odegaard, Tom (Sue) Odegaard and Dewey (Kristin) Odegaard; stepchildren, Kathi (Jim) Wacek, Debra Lokken (Mike Locke) and Carrie (Kent) Cain; sisters, Nancy Luty and Shirley (Shorty) Young; brothers, Eddie Stelter and Kim Kirchoffner; in-laws, Sylvia Lokken, Carol (Peter) Riphahn, Dennis (Mary) Lokken, Paul (Marilyn) Lokken, Linda Palzkill, Glenn (Janice) Lokken, Marilyn Wood, Donna Moreno and Jerry Lokken; grandchildren, Cody (Jess) Odegaard, Asa (Taylor) Odegaard, Jessica (Eric) Showers, Aaron (Nikki) Thornsen, Sarah (Ryan) Hynek, JoLynn Odegaard, Trevor (Lindsey) Odegaard, Karli Nelson, Mark Vloedman, Anna Odegaard and Baker Odegaard; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gay, Robert and Eugene Stelter and Bernie Kirchoffner; sister, Lynda Stelter; grandson, Joseph Solomon; son-in-law, Thomas Schulz; as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
