Jeffrey George Harrington

Monona - Jeffrey George “Jeff” Harrington, age 74, of Monona, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at VA Hospital. He was born on April 7, 1952, in Madison, Wis., the son of Jack Harrington and Geraldine (Bailey) Shultz.

Jeff attended Madison East High School. He then enlisted in and served active duty in the U.S. Army from 1972-1977. Jeff worked at Oscar Mayer for almost 30 years and also worked as a self-employed plumber. He was an avid Packers, Brewers and Badgers hockey fan, and over the years he coached numerous baseball and youth hockey teams, alongside his son. He enjoyed going out on his pontoon boat with family. Jeff was a collector of many things and loved to “tinker” with stuff.

Jeff is survived by his son, Kevin (Jennifer) Harrington; daughters, Keri (Matt) Haddock and Kelli (Harold Carson) Burrell; grandchildren, Katelyn Haddock, Kaleese Burrell, Jocelyn Harrington, Keith Burrell and Jayden Harrington; brothers, Jack Harrington, Jerry (Annette) Harrington and Dan Kratochwill; sisters, Dawn Shultz and Darlene (Scott) Anderson; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Harrington; mother, Geraldine Shultz; and sister-in-law, Pam Harrington.

A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Private burial with military honors will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona. In honor of Jeff’s laid-back spirit, the family invites guests to dress casually and comfortably.
