Obituary
WINDSOR - Michael LeRoy “Mike” Owens, age 61, of Windsor, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 11, 1963, in Fort Hood, Texas, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth "Betty" (Leuthold) Owens.
Michael graduated from Barneveld High School in 1982. He married Angela Zimmerman on May 17, 1997. He worked as a meat cutter for Kroger Metro Market in Monona.
Mike loved his family and being a Dad above all else. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a deep love and respect for nature. He spent a lot of time teaching his children, nieces and nephews all about it. In his free time, he could often be found fishing and hunting. He had a passion for woodworking and cooking and also enjoyed spending time gardening at his home and his hunting land.
Michael is survived by his wife, Angela; daughter, Alexandra Owens; son, Mitchell Owens; mother, Elizabeth; three brothers, Dave (Lori) Owens, Scott (Jennie) Owens and Timothy (Katie) Owens; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Steve (Stephanie) Zimmerman, Jon Zimmerman and Jared (Heather) Zimmerman; sister-in-law, Amanda (Ken) Ransom; mother-in-law, Bev (Bill) Severson; and father-in-law, Ben (Sonja) Zimmerman. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Owens.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO MOUNT HOREB FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 500 N. 8th St., Mount Horeb, at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
