STOUGHTON - Richard R. “Dick” Hoffman, age 85, of Stoughton, went home to the Lord on Thursday, February 13, 2025. He was born on July 16, 1939, in Appleton, Wis., to Rudolph and Agnes (Rousse) Hoffman.
Richard grew up in Appleton and after graduation, he volunteered for the draft. He did his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and from there, he went by ship to Germany and served two years in Nuremburg, "C" BTRY, 3rd Gun Bn. 39th Artillery 280-MM. When he came back, he worked in finance in Fort Atkinson, Wis.
Richard met his wife, Aurelia (Willie) Hoffman in Beloit, Wis., and they married on July 11, 1964, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Brodhead, Wis. They lived in Fort Atkinson a short while, then came to Stoughton, Wis., in 1967 where he and his wife raised two children.
Richard began working at Stoughton State Bank and worked there for 24 years and retired as Executive Vice President. Richard says he was very fortunate to be able to help those in need and said his drivers were the finest!!
He enjoyed camping with his family and friends, fishing, swimming, and he and his wife bowled for several years. Richard said his family was the most important thing to him and he treasured them dearly. He loved being with his grandchildren, playing board games and puzzles with them.
