Obituary

POYNETTE- Robert Nehls, 73, passed away peacefully at home February 10, 2025. With the care of family and Agrace Hospice, he faced a second round of advanced cancer 30 years after the first. Bob grew up farming on the land that he spent his entire life on. He married Lynette Allegar in 1978 and together they dairy farmed until 1994.

He is survived by his children, Ben Nehls (Bobbi Looker), Jennifer (Doug) Detrick, and Heather (Ken) Alden, and grandchildren, Rowan and Jane Detrick.

Bob worked tirelessly for years farming, followed by many years at FPS in Lodi. Somehow, he still made time to keep his sprawling acres as tidy as a golf course and indulge in various creative pursuits. For many years he was the entertainer at many family gatherings. In later years, his woodworking was prolific, with an incredible collection of wooden vehicles made for friends and family.

No services will be held per Bob's wishes.

We are so sorry for your loss. Dan really enjoyed working with your dad at FPS. And we both loved your mom and dad. We have fond memories of being invited to a party at the farm and a beautiful outdoor wedding. Dan and Sheila Smith

Words are not enough to ease the sadness of losing someone so important to you. Your dad was a great neighbor and family friend. He helped my dad in so many ways--from castrating pigs to climbing to the top of corn crib to fix something. My thoughts are with you, especially during this difficult time. Arlene Haupt
