Obituary

BLACK EARTH - Michael F. “Mike” Ott, age 57, of Black Earth, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025. He was born on June 1, 1967, in Madison, WI, the son of Fred Ott and Judith Bois.


Mike and Melissa (Schmitz) were united in marriage on October 14, 1995, in Cross Plains and enjoyed 29 wonderful years together.  


Mike was an avid walleye fisherman, hunter, and a life-long Badgers and Cowboys fan. He always enjoyed good tunes, laughs and spending time with his closest friends and family. Mike was a loving and loyal husband and father. He was extremely hardworking in everything he did, including concrete for over 40 years.  


Mike is survived by his wife, Melissa; son, Jacob; daughter, Chloe (Brandon); parents, Fred and Jeanne Ott and Judith Bois; siblings, Kim (Larry) Hummel, Rese (Jeff) Gladem and Rob (Jamie Sue) Ott; sister-in-law, Lori (Jeff) Gruel; and many other family members and friends.


Mike will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Memorials may be made to support Mike’s family.
