Obituary

STOUGHTON - Peter Martin Christopher, age 84, of Stoughton, Wis., passed away peacefully Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Skaalen Home in Stoughton, surrounded by his three children.


Peter was born on September 5, 1940, in Stoughton, Wis. He graduated from Stoughton Senior High School in 1958 and then attended a semester at Madison Business School before joining the U.S. Navy as a draftsman. After the Navy, he started his career as a draftsman working for several companies in the Midwest. He settled his family in the late ‘60s in Stoughton and tried his hand at farming. While farming he became a licensed realtor which became his true calling. He owned several businesses and income property through the years to include a bar called the Ice House, the Coin Castle and eventually started his own real estate company called The Christopher Company. At the pinnacle of his real estate career, he owned and operated the C-21 Affiliated branch in Stoughton. Peter was a skilled craftsman; he could build and fix just about anything. Peter loved to travel, aviate, snowmobile, boat, fish and maintain his gardens at his home on Lake Kegonsa.  


Peter is survived by his first wife, Sharon Christopher (Prahl); their three children, Laura Christopher (Matt Beckstead), Carl (Holly) Christopher and Audrey (John) Currier; five grandchildren, Charles (Amber) Weber, Heather Weber, Nicholas Weber, Ryan Hensley and Jared Christopher; and five great-grandchildren, Madison Weber, Mason Weber, Brooklyn Weber, Braxton Weber and MaryJane Hensley.


Peter was preceded in death by his second wife, Nancy J. Christopher (Hoekstra); parents, Paul G. Christopher Sr. and Margaret C. Christopher (Stein); sister, Betsy Stefan (Christopher), and brother, Paul G. Christopher Jr.


The family would like to thank the Skilled Nursing & Rehab team at the Skaalen Home for their loving care, and to the Agrace HospiceCare team for their compassionate care during our father’s final days.
