Obituary

TUCSON, Ariz. - Tina Marie Cleven Weger, age 61, of Stoughton, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Born on March 7, 1963, in Madison, Wis., to Douglas Cleven and Patricia Wittenburg, Tina spent her formative years in the Stoughton area. She graduated from Stoughton Senior High School and later pursued nursing studies at Madison Area Technical College.

Carefree summers in her youth were often spent working at her grandfather’s general store in Token Creek, where she developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for community. She later began her career in the airline industry, first as a travel agent and later as a Delta Global Services ticketing and gate agent at Dane County Regional Airport, which helped to fuel her love of travel and adventure that defined much of her life.

Tina devoted nearly a decade to caring for her mother, Patricia, during her battle with Alzheimer’s. Following her mother’s passing in 2021, Tina relocated to Arizona to be closer to her sons, Christopher and Alex, who were the center of her world. Her selfless dedication as a mother was evident as she always put them first and worked tirelessly to ensure their happiness and success.

Her adventurous spirit inspired spontaneous trips with family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Summers spent at Weger’s Northwoods, her resort in Phillips, Wis., were among her happiest times, as loved ones gathered around the campfire to connect and celebrate life.

Tina’s compassion and generosity were hallmarks of her character. She fostered numerous animals throughout her life, offering them care and shelter. A gifted cook, she delighted in experimenting with new recipes and sharing meals with those she loved. Her green thumb, cultivated under the guidance of her parents, Doug and Pat, brought her joy as she tended her garden under the sun, accompanied by the hum of the radio and a favorite book in hand.

Her sense of humor was infectious, brightening every room she entered and leaving those around her laughing at her playfulness. Her radiant smile and genuine warmth will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.

Tina leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Tina is survived by her sons, Christopher Weger and Alexander Weger; father, Douglas Cleven (Debbi Holum); sisters, Kelly Friedli and Nicole (Scott) Mulcahy; step siblings, John (Sarah) Holum and Steven Holum; ex-husband, Timothy Weger; nieces, Shey, Paige and Caelin; nephews, Michael and Thomas; along with many other close relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pat Wittenburg; and brother, Michael Cleven.

I would see Tina at the airport frequently when I traveled, and she always took time out to say hello. We visited Tina at her resort in Philips last summer, she loved being there looking out at the lake with a cup of coffee. We very much enjoyed spending time with her, she always talked about her boys Christopher and Alex - she was definitely very proud of them! We will miss her dearly… ❤️❤️❤️
