Karen A Fisher

BARABOO - Karen A. Fisher, age 77, of Baraboo, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at SSM Hospice House. She was born on March 18, 1947, in Madison, the daughter of Roy Retzlaff and Violet (Bailey) Lukens.

Karen graduated from East High School in 1965. She met the love of her life, Dean Fisher, 50 years ago at the Caribou Bar and they were married on April 26, 1980.

Karen loved her family and her dogs, Bridgette and Patches. She enjoyed playing Bingo and going out to eat with her husband (wherever he chose to go as long as he was driving). She was a huge fan of country music, especially Marty Robbins and was thrilled to see Elvis with her daughter at the Coliseum in Madison. Karen was a member of the Eagles Club and The Greig Club.

Karen is survived by her husband, Dean; daughter, Heather (Joseph) Hornick; son, Darren (Lacy) Olson; grandchildren, Jenna Hornick, Anthony Hornick and Phoebe Hornick; sister, Joanne Odegaard; and brothers, Michael (Gert) Lukens and Gary (Kathy) Lukens. She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Jill Olson.

A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, with the Rev. Scott Marrese-Wheeler presiding. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
