Obituary
MADISON - Bernard Eugene Ruchti, age 95, of Madison, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Oak Park Place. He was born on December 6, 1929, in Fennimore, Wis., the son of Lawrence and Wilma (Stenner) Ruchti.
Bernard graduated from Fennimore High School in 1947. He married Iva Edge on June 1, 1952, in Lancaster, Wis. He worked as a school custodian for the Madison Metropolitan School District for many years, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Door Creek Church.
Bernard enjoyed camping, bus tour vacations, wood carving and working in his shop.
Bernard is survived by his wife, Iva; two daughters, Lynne Moore; Jill (Keith) Picker; son, Dennis (Lynda) Ruchti; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sarah Picker.
A memorial service will be held at DOOR CREEK CHURCH, 6602 Dominion Drive, Madison, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025, with Reverend Cal Steiner presiding. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. A luncheon will immediately follow the service. The final resting place is Roselawn Memorial Park.
