COTTAGE GROVE - Crystal Mae Zimmerman, age 87, of Cottage Grove, WI, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Agrace HospiceCare Fitchburg, WI. She was born on November 22, 1938, in Madison, WI, the daughter of Malcolm Rose and Elizabeth Braley.


Crystal was united in marriage to Urban Zimmerman on December 12, 1959.


Crystal was a member of St Patrick Catholic in Cottage Grove, WI, and had a strong Catholic faith attending church regularly.


In her earlier years she enjoyed snowmobiling with Urban and friends. Crystal and Urban enjoyed traveling in their free time with one of her most memorable trips to Germany to visit Urban’s brother, Joe, and his wife, Barb. Crystal and Urban waited in line overnight in Milwaukee to buy season Packer tickets. They attended many games with family and friends.


She loved bowling, playing cribbage, visiting casinos and playing cards with family and friends. Crystal treasured her family and attending family events. She was always excited to go on the trips that her apartment complex arranged. Crystal spent many hours crocheting beautiful blankets. She was a regularly active person and loved to keep herself busy with hobbies and socializing. She cherished spending time with Jerry's mother-in-law, Barb and loved all her precious "grand-dogs."


Crystal was preceded in death by husband, Urban Zimmerman; and her parents, Malcom Rose and Elizabeth Brailey. Crystal is survived by her sons, Charles (Tammy) Zimmerman, Gerald (Debra) Zimmerman and Roger (Linda) Zimmerman; William (Terri) Shields and DoWayne Shields; grandchildren, Caitlyn Zimmerman, Michael Zimmerman, Nicholas Zimmerman and Stephanie Zimmerman; and great-grandchildren, Martin Lacky Jr. and LaMello Lacky.

My sincere condolences to the entire Zimmerman family. Such an amazing hard working lady with a beautiful, infectious smile. I will forever remember the hilarious stories of Crystal and Barb's experiences babysitting their paw-fect granddogs...and how they both loved every minute of it...no matter what shenanigans those furbabies try to pull. I hope they have reunited in Heaven and are watching over all of us.😇💕😇

Our condolences to the family. I got to meet crystal when i would go visit my dad at taylor ridge. She would join my dad at the puzzle on 2nd floor. And she was such a happy lady and a smart ass as well which was great. She was alot of company for my dad when he was at the puzzle. The hole that is left now is huge. The card games as well again her funny humor and her smile while we all played. Im so glad i got to know her. She is really missed at taylor ridge.
