Obituary

MADISON - Anna Mae Nord, age 78, of Madison, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025. She was born on December 31, 1946, in Kimberly, WI, the daughter of Merlin and Marie Hagany.

 

Anna Mae graduated from La Follette High School in 1965.  She married Thomas Nord on June 15, 1974, in Madison. Anna Mae and Thomas started a family and traveled to many locations, including Landstuhl, Germany, where they made many cherished memories. She was a devoted wife and mother who cared deeply for all of her children. She was selfless, warm-hearted, and giving. She was also a woman of great strength who handled adversity with kindness and grace.

 

She worked as the regional coordinator for Cardinal Stritch University. She enjoyed spending time with her colleagues and cultivated lasting relationships with her co-workers.

 

Anna Mae was a current member of American Legion Post No. 501. She was an Assistant Leader in the Girl Scouts, volunteered at the VA hospital, the American Legion, and the Special Olympics. Anna Mae was a big sports fan, she never missed a Packers game and was an avid fan of the Brewers.


Anna Mae is survived by her husband, Thomas; four daughters, Michele (Erik Becker) Nord, Debbie (Jason Benzine) Nord, Julie (Bill Bergeron) Nord and Trish (Omoniyi) Adebo; son, Jeff Nord; grandson, Seyi Adebo; granddaughter, Lola Adebo; sister, Jean Hagany; and two brothers, Richard Hagany and David Hagany. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Merlin.


A funeral service will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025. A visitation will be held at the cemetery from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.

Anna's light always showed bright in everything she did! She was a wonderful friend to my sister Pam Hicks! I enjoyed spending time with her.
