ARLINGTON - Valeria Isabell Gundlach, age 97, died on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at SSM Health, St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin. She was born on January 19, 1927, in Leeds, the daughter of Herbert and Julia (Noltemeyer) Schultz. She married Robert Edward August Gundlach on May 23, 1947, in Arlington, Wisconsin.
Valeria graduated from Poynette High School and worked many years in the warehouse at Del Monte Canning Company. She was a current member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her main passions were being a homemaker, a gardener, and a grandparent.
She is survived by her son, Robert E. Gundlach Jr.; daughter, Virginia (Neil) Nordlof; grandchildren, Erika and Bradley Nordlof; step-grandchildren, Nicole Cordonnier (Jerry) Gibson; great-grandchild, Andrew Try; step-great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Joel Cordonnier; brother, Herbert (Gayno) Schultz; many nieces and nephews and family and friends. Valeria was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert; brothers, Wilmer Schultz, Charles Schultz, and Donovan Schultz; sisters, Evelyn Hahn and Darlene Lerch; brothers-in-law, William Hahn and Harold Lerch; and sisters-in-law, Arlette Schultz and Pat Schultz.
Funeral Services will be held at ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, W6906 County Rd. K, Arlington, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, with Pastor Scott Schwertfeger presiding. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
