MONONA - Richard Calvin “Dick” Fasking passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025. He was born to Sylvester and Meta (Accola) Fasking in Sauk City, Wis. Dick was the fourth of six children. He grew up in Sauk City and graduated from Sauk City High School in 1953. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army for three years spending most of his tour in Alaska. He returned home for a short period and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving four more years in the military. Returning home once again he went searching for employment and found a job with “MURA” Midwestern University Research Association which became part of the U.W. Madison’s High Energy Physics Research Department. He retired from there in 1998.
Dick is survived by his wife, Jane (Quartuccio) Fasking; son, Henry; daughter, Holly (Steve) Langton; stepson, Bryce (Julie) DaWalt; along with siblings, Don (Redford, N.Y.), Ken (Cottage Grove, Wis.), Ruth Shadbolt (Portland, Maine); and granddaughters, Syndey and Bailey Langton and Giovanina DaWalt. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Birdsall; and brother, Jim.
