Obituary

MADISON - Leonard A. “Lenny” Redders, age 85, of Madison, Wis., left this world to be with Jesus, on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the VA Hospital.


Lenny was born on May 15, 1939, in Madison, the son of Henry W. and Dorothy M. (Harrison) Redders. He graduated from Madison East High School in 1957 and enlisted in the U.S. Army. Lenny worked at Briggs as a truck driver for over 20 years and eventually retired as a bus driver from Madison Metro. He was a youth coach for East Little League as well as a hockey coach for the Lakers. He had a passion for antique cars, enjoyed hunting birds, and loved attending his grandchildren's extracurricular events.


Lenny believed in his faith, was a man of the church and loved the Lord.


Lenny is survived by his children, Jared (Tina) Redders and Lana “Missy” (Jake) Stauffacher; four grandchildren Austin, Hailey and Emma Redders and Luke Stauffacher; and many other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Dorothy Redders; brother, Darrell Redders; and infant brother, Henry Kenneth Redders.


A Christian Service will be held at GUNDERSON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12 noon on Saturday, January 4, 2025. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. The burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date.
