Obituary

MADISON - Scott Fredrick Woerth, age 72, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital.

Scott was born on December 27, 1951, in Madison, the son of Donald and Arlene (Collins) Woerth. He grew up in Madison and graduated from East High School in 1970 and MATC in 1972, playing basketball at both schools. Scott met a nice girl from the east side, Julie Williams, and they were married on February 7, 1976, in Madison.

Scott was a simple person and a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan. Whenever he wore his Cardinal attire, he always had other Cardinal fans come up and talk to him. He played fast pitch softball for many years, where he made many lifelong friends. He also bowled in a few different leagues over the years. Scott enjoyed meeting up with friends, making food on the grill and reading, but his biggest passion were his grandkids. Scott always supported them in their sports and activities and there weren’t many games he missed. He loved being a grandpa.

Scott will be dearly missed by his wife, Julie; sons, Chris (Nikki) Woerth and Jared (Betsy) Woerth; grandchildren, Owen, Reed, Will, MaKenna, Cal and Carson; sisters, Diane (Eugene) Durkee, Linda Woerth and Kim Larson; brother, Craig (Kathy) Woerth; and in-laws, Joe Morehouse and Bernie Rasmussen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Arlene; and sisters, Pam Morehouse and Patti Rasmussen.

A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025.

JULIE-CHRIS-JARED & THE REST OF THE WOERTH FAMILY Our deepest sympathy and prayers are with you all. You lost a great Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother I have a lot of great memories with Scott during our Basketball career at MATC and the years that followed. We would talk Basketball and Baseball year in and year out. We would always ask how each others (boy) or boys were doing. I couldn't ask for a better friend but most of all a better human being. You will be missed my friend. GO CARDINALS Scott until we see each other again The MATC Basketball Family Kent Adler
