DEFOREST - Erin Michelle West, age 42, of DeForest, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024. She was born on September 10, 1982, in St. Charles, Mo., the daughter of Larry and Teresa (Fischer) Etherton.

 

Erin graduated from Harrison High School in 2000 and went on to graduate from Kennesaw State University in 2005. She married Jack West on May 21, 2005, in Powder Springs, Ga. Erin worked as a teacher for Abundant Life Christian School for four years. She was a member of Doxa Church in Madison, Wis.  

 

Erin enjoyed family camping trips, attending school sporting events, serving at Doxa Church, and spending time with her daughters and the rest of her family.

 

Erin is survived by her husband, Jack; three daughters, Emery, Laurel and Adleigh; parents, Teresa and Larry; sister, Jennifer (Glenn) Bruce; friend, Hanna Hipp; and Pastor Rob Warren.

 

A funeral service will be held at DOXA CHURCH, 2700 Novation Parkway, Madison, at 12 noon on Monday, December 23, 2024. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.

Erin is my niece. We were very close and I will treasure the relationship and I am a better person having her in my life. I’m thankful I had time with her the weekend before this tragic event. I love you and will miss you my sweet girl. Always, Aunt Debbie. 💕

Erin and I spent countless hours as kids playing sharks and minnows in the pool, playing “school” at each other’s houses, and playing in the woods with other neighborhood kids. She would light up talking about her elementary school teachers, and she loved babies and toddlers. Erin was born to be a teacher and mom. She had a bubbly, fun-loving personality and kind, caring spirit. She looked up to her sister Jenny so much; we once tiptoed into Jenny’s room to admire her gorgeous black prom dress. Erin went to her loving mom for advice, and would sweet talk her dad into stopping at Checkers on his way home from work to bring home a delicious hamburger. Erin was special. Heaven gained an angel, and her joyful nature and beautiful smile will continue on through her three daughters. My deepest sympathy goes to all of you. Rebecca Clements (Dysart)
