Patricia E. Pabst

MADISON - Patricia Eileen Pabst, age 89, of Madison, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on December 19, 1934, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Bernard and Fern (Korthals) McCarthy. She was the loving wife of James “Jim” Pabst.

Patricia graduated from Shorewood High School before going on to graduate from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked as a psychiatric RN for the state of Wisconsin for many years, and she took great pride in being a nurse and was a life-long caregiver to anyone who needed help.

Patricia was a loving mom and was always ready to help her children. She loved to travel both domestic and internationally. She took great pride in her home and enjoyed spending time there. She was often out in her yard, tending to her flowers and bird watching. She found peace in her home. She was an avid golfer and could often be found out on the course with her children. She loved watching all types of sports, and Tiger Woods was definitely a favorite of hers.

Patricia is survived by her two daughters, Colleen (Charles Schweiger) Dimas and Kathleen (Daniel Tatge) Reed; three sons, James Reed, Terry (Cheryl Bedward) Reed and Jerry Reed; and seven grandchildren, Danielle Dimas, Mitchell Sego, Heather Reed, Michaela Reed, McCarthy Reed, Morgan Reed and Katy Gibbons.

She was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Patricia “Patty” Martin; husband, Jim Pabst; parents, Fern and Bernard; and ex-husband, James Reed.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at GOOD SHEPHERD CATHOLIC PARISH AT ST. JOSEPH CHURCH, 1905 West Beltline HWY, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens following the Mass on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare or Good Shepherd Catholic Parish at St. Joseph Church.
