Obituary

MOUNT HOREB - Pamla J. “Pam” Sullivan, age 58, of Mount Horeb, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, after a courageous four-year battle with ALS. She was born on January 6, 1966, in Menomonee Falls, the daughter of Kenneth and Carol (Moon) Allan.

Pam graduated from Menomonee Falls East High School in 1984. She married Daniel Sullivan on July 7, 1994, in Milwaukee, Wis. After graduating from Alverno College, she worked as a teacher for several years. She retired from professional teaching after her first child was born. However, it wasn’t long before she started teaching again, this time as a homeschool teacher. She taught all four of her children from kindergarten through high school. Nothing was more important to her than instilling a strong foundation of faith and a love of learning in her children and everyone who knows them will confidently say that she was successful.

She was a regular attendee of Blackhawk Church and part of the church community for over 20 years. Her Christian faith was an integral part of her life and everyone who knew her will tell you of her strong faith and love for Jesus. She had a strong group of cherished friends who she loved to share her faith with and who supported and loved her in her long struggle with health issues.

Next to her family and friends, Pam’s first love was for animals, especially dogs; there was always at least one dog in the household as well as cats, ferrets and horses. Pam loved to read any and every type of book; she could often be found sitting on the sun porch with a book and a cup of coffee. She also loved nature and birds and enjoyed vacations in the Northwoods with her family.

Pamla is survived by her husband, Daniel; two daughters, Amy Sullivan (Jamison Miller) and Megan Sullivan; two sons, Kip Sullivan and Jay Sullivan (Makayla Strohmyer); parents, Kenneth and Carol Allan; two brothers, Scott (Shari) Allan and Rick (Peggy) Allan; and sister, Lynn (Keith) Becker.

Last together Christmas Pam and I decorated her Christmas tree together. She had boxes and boxes with her children names on each and every one. She pointed to the special ones she wanted me to trim the tree with. She cherished those those ornaments as I hung them on the tree and she smiled and nodded her head as her eyes lit up when the tree was finished. We shared memories of years of decorations from her children as the we light the tree up.

Mr and Mrs Allan, Lynn, Scott, and Rick, This is Pete Harrison. You might remember me from Emmanuel Community United Methodist Church. I was shocked and saddened to hear about Pam's passing. However, having kept in touch with her through 1992, I knew of her struggles, and was overjoyed to read about her joys and successes in life, including her loving family. I, too, am a teacher, and I, too, am a "Friend of Bill W." as I'm certain Pam was. Blessings to all of you!!
