MOUNT HOREB - Roger Wayne Anderson, age 84, of Mount Horeb, passed away on Tuesday December 10, 2024. He was born on February 19, 1940, in Mount Horeb, the son of Walter and Clarice (Lundene) Anderson.
Roger attended Mount Horeb High School. He was united in marriage to Dawn Johnson on September 23, 1960, in Dubuque, Iowa. Roger was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed working as an over the road trucker for many companies where he was known as "lead foot." He also enjoyed working for Dane County as a diversified employee. In most recent years, he enjoyed farming and his partnership with RLD trucking. He was an accomplished businessman who always ended a conversation with a big thank you.
Roger loved his family very much. Dawn was a true partner and the love of his life. Roger was a true hero to his family. He was very knowledgeable, kind and generous. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and many others.
Roger is survived by his wife, Dawn; daughters, Bethann Pollow and Brenda (Rich) Johnson; sons, Leroy Anderson, Brent Anderson, Joe (Cindy) Anderson and Lonnie Anderson; seven grandchildren, Paul, Lacey, Katie, Ashton, Darrel, Justin and Henry; nine great-grandchildren, sisters, Shirley Davis and Marcia (Ted) Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Clarice; sisters, Myrtle Anderson and Winnett Alsmo; and brother Orville Anderson.
A funeral service will be held at PERRY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1057 WI-78 Trunk, Mount Horeb, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, with Pastor Kelli Fisher presiding. Burial will take place at the Perry Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
