Obituary
MONONA- Hazel Chloe Anding, age 94, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, November 11, 2024. She was born on January 19,1930, at home in Richland County in Akon, Wis., the daughter of Frank and Odessa Elder.
Hazel grew up in Muscoda on a farm and graduated high school in 1948. She worked at Morningside Sanitarium and the UW Hospital. She married LaVane Anding on January 20, 1950. Hazel was a true servant to the community working at St. Stephens Food Pantry for 50 plus years. In 2011, she received the United Way Volunteer of the Year Award.
Hazel is survived by her four children, Belinda (Patrick) Hermans, Jackie (Denny) Kelley, Jeff Anding and Bart Anding; grandchildren, Colleen (Ed), Zachary (Jenn), Amanda (Derek), Jason (Korinne), Chris (Shannon) and Dustin; great-grandchildren, Deklan, August, Kinsley, Wrenley, Dahlton, Lawson, Lyndsie (Kyle), Evelyn, Ashton and Kace; great-great-grandchild, Kelten and Kolman; and sister, Patricia Severson. She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVane; parents, Frank and Odessa; sisters, Phyllis and Beverly; and brothers, Arleigh and Jimmy.
Hazel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She will be missed by all. WE LOVE YOU MOM!
A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, with Rev. Elisa Brandt presiding. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. A private burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens.
