Obituary

MADISON - Gustavo Flores Reyes, age 55, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at UW Hospital and Clinics. He was born on May 7, 1969, in Guerrero, Mexico, the son of Salatiel Flores Delgado and Paz Reyes Lazaro. He married Maria Gomez on March 22, 1997, in Orange County, California.


Gustavo worked as a chef in Madison area restaurants for many years as he loved to cook. He also enjoyed his morning coffee, going to the casino, and was always the life of the party. He especially loved spending time with Maria and the rest of his family.


Gustavo is survived by wife, Maria; children, Mike Santos, Melvin Santos, Guadalupe "Natali" (Brian) Flores and Nancy Flores; grandchildren, Carmyne, Esmeralda, Kylie, Bentley, Nayeli, Brynnly and Reina; grand pup, King; niece, Araceli Flores; the extended Flores Reyes family; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, with Fr. Osvaldo Briones, SJS presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday. Burial will be held at Verona Cemetery.

Gustavo was a friend and coworker of mine. Never did a day go by that he didn't share a story. Filled with love, regarding his family! I heard about how much he loved his wife, children. grandchildren and a special dog named king! I am so sorry for your loss! God bless your family!
