Obituary

Columbus - Elizabeth Ruth Perkins, age 87, of Columbus, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Home Again Memory Care. She was born on July 13, 1937, in Plain, Wis., the daughter of Sylvester and Mary (Walsh) Kraemer.

Elizabeth grew up on a farm in Plain. She grew up tough, but always had a smile on her face. She graduated from St. Luke’s High School in 1955.  She married Raymond Perkins on April 9, 1956.

In addition to raising her own family, Elizabeth worked as a health assistant at LaFollette High School, a job she loved. She worked with many of the special needs children and tried to make a difference in their lives. She was also an amazing seamstress and made hospital gowns for Pro Garm. In her free time, she was an avid Packers fan and a Favre fanatic. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, and was truly the glue that held the family together. Elizabeth was a long-time member of St. Dennis Catholic Church.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Lita (Paul) Morschauser, Lisa (Doug) Syse and Lynette (Jim) Parish; sons, Ray Perkins Jr. and Bruce Perkins; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Perkins Sr.; and son, Gregory Perkins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, with Father Michael Resop presiding. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday. Luncheon to follow at VFW Post 5791, 301 Cottage Grove Road, Madison.

We love our Elsie!! Condolences 🥰😇🙏 She, with sister Rita, were pillars of our family business, Med-All's ProGarm on Packers Ave for decades...mid 70's onward. Elsie was pretty fast on that chainstich sewing machine! Elsie and the ProGarm seamstresses probably constructed 10s of millions of pieces of custom made, cut and sew hospital gowns, surgical gowns, caps, shoes, millions of AmTrak pillow cases. As the owning family's son who worked along side the family businesses, I can say I loved the PG production teams, and the Kraemer girls were my favorites Elsie and Rita, Thelma, Pat team! I loved their families too, Ray cooking at Windsor CC for our company dinners. We loved Elsie and Ray! Family is family. This is family. Eternal hugs to the Family from John Hobbins, who passed in 2016 but no doubt listening to Elsie's chatter right now, and Annie my Mom who passed on to Jesus in 2019. No doubt Ray is cooking up a storm on a family ans friends meal get together eternally, the beloved family business teams. Condolences to all! XXXX XXXXXX Jim "Ben", and daus Ashley -Anne and Savanna-Marie Hobbins I know Wayne W and brother Eric(rip) Ross would said their condolences to Elsie as my close friends also in the family businesses. Our book keeper Kenny Hoffman too.
