We were close friends that worked together and partied together, plus our wives were close friends. Buzz will be missed by many. God rest his soul.

We have always been thankful for knowing Rodney and Phyllis. They were the first people to welcome us to Lena, as we first lived above the Red Rooster, a small restaurant, (which is now McGuire’s.). Rodney was one of the
cooks, as his Mom owned the restaurant. We went on to teach with him, and he later coached with my husband. He also coached all of our daughters in basketball.
In the meantime, Phyllis & I became fast friends as we would get together to do crafts when our children were young.
We were always thankful for their friendship. Our deepest sympathy to Robb & Ryan and their families. 🩵💙💜

Although I never got the chance to know you well Rodney….. I must say you raised 2 amazing boys! Robb & Ryan are extremely caring people. Robb has always been like a brother to me & I’m forever grateful. May you rest in peace ❤️🩹

I am so very sorry for your loss. I was blessed to have Mr. Wise as my basketball coach for 4 years and middle school English Lit teacher for two years and I will never forget him. I have very fond memories and learned so much from him. He is a very big reason I have gotten into coaching youth basketball myself. "Rodney" as we all lovingly called him (out of ear shot of course) was a great man and will be very missed. I have thought of him often over the years and it always makes me smile, even thinking about the dreaded stairs and the free throws afterwards. Rest in peace Mr. Wise.

Your dad sounds amazing. What a wonderful tribute to his life and love of his family. I didn't know him, but I share his love for teaching.
May you always remember the good times and embrace that he is always a part of your heart.
